Los Angeles, California (March 4, 2021) – Los Angeles Police Department officer has succumbed to injuries he sustained after being struck by a vehicle last week on Friday in South Los Angeles.
The deadly accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 26, near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Woodlawn Avenue.
Officer Jose Anzora was directing traffic on foot near the intersection when he was hit by a vehicle.
Anzora sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
The involved driver stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said.
The accident remains under investigation.
