Ailene Beazley among 2 Women Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Van Buren Boulevard at 56th Street in Jurupa Valley
Jurupa Valley, California (March 4, 2021) – Ailene Beazley, 86, of Valley Center, was among two women who died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in Jurupa Valley, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened at about 6:34 p.m. Saturday, February 27, on southbound Van Buren Boulevard at 56th Street.
Authorities said an Amazon delivery van was traveling southbound on Van Buren Boulevard when it crashed into a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department patrol SUV parked at the scene of another accident.
The impact pushed the SUV into two Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies and two women who were standing at the scene.
Beazley and the other woman, Monica Lopez, 35, of Riverside, were pronounced dead at the scene. The two deputies were transported to Riverside Community Hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the Amazon van complained of pain and was also taken to a nearby hospital.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
Van Buren Boulevard was closed between Jurupa Road and Limonite Avenue due to the collision.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the CHP at 951-637-8000.
