Bakersfield, California (February 22, 2021) – Three people were injured early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in south Bakersfield, according to a local news source.

At about 2:18 a.m., authorities received a report about the crash in the area of Planz Road and Wible Road.

Upon their arrival, they found two vehicles had collided at the intersection of Planz Road and Wible Road. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to overturn.

Bystanders managed to flip one of the vehicles back onto its wheels, and immediately smoke began to come out of the vehicle. Two people were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.

One other person was also trapped in the other vehicle and was freed by the firefighters.

All patients were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Their names and current condition were not disclosed.

One of the drivers allegedly ran a red light before it was t-boned by the other vehicle, according to the authorities.

The crash remains under investigation.
