Brian Yesko ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Bakersfield Hit-And-Run Crash on Brundage Lane near V Street

Bakersfield, California (February 17, 2021) – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Friday night in Bakersfield as Brian Scott Yesko, 39.
The deadly hit-and-run accident happened shortly before 10:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, in the 100 block of Brundage Lane near V Street.
According to the authorities, Yesko was struck by a vehicle for unknown reasons in the westbound lanes.
It was not immediately known if Yesko was inside a crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found Yesko suffering from major injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to Kern Medical, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid to Yesko and fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a white Dodge SUV, possibly a Journey, with front-end damage.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call the authorities.
