Norman Figueroa Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Hunt Road in Gustine
Norman Figueroa ID’d as 1 of 2 Killed in Gustine Motorcycle Crash at Hunt Road and Gun Club Road

Gustine, California (February 8, 2021) – One of the two people who died following a Sunday afternoon motorcycle accident near Gustine has been identified as Norman Figueroa, 66, of Gustine.
At around 1:35 p.m. Sunday, February 7, emergency personnel responded to the area of Hunt Road and Gun Club Road for a report of a traffic collision.
According to the CHP, Figueroa was riding a motorcycle northbound on Hunt Road when, for undetermined reasons, he tried to make a U-turn at the intersection with Gun Club Road.
Figueroa reportedly failed to yield the right of way to a 2007 Acura TL driven by Yolanda Vasquez, 39.
The motorcycle and the Acura eventually collided. The Acura continued onto the east shoulder, where it crashed into a metal fence.
Figueroa and his passenger, a 7-year-old granddaughter, were thrown off the bike upon the impact. Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, authorities said.
Deadly Motorcycle Accident at Hunt Road and Gun Club Road
Figueroa died at the scene while his granddaughter sustained major injuries and was transported to Los Banos Memorial Hospital and later taken to Valley Children’s Hospital.
On Sunday night, the girl’s condition deteriorated and she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Vasquez suffered major injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Merced for treatment.
No further details regarding the collision were immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
