62-Year-Old Santa Paula Man Killed, One Injured in Ventura County Car Crash on Foothill Road near N. Saticoy Avenue
Ventura County, California (February 6, 2021) – One person was killed and another was injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection near Saticoy in Ventura County, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident, which was reported at about 1:37 p.m.Friday, February 5, happened on Foothill Road, just east of N. Saticoy Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol, a 29-year-old Wilmington man was driving a 2008 Toyota Highlander westbound on Foothill Road when, for unknown reasons, he allowed the Toyota to drift into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an eastbound 1992 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 62-year-old Santa Paula man.
Deadly Ventura County Two-Car Accident on Foothill Road
The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. His name of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Toyota driver was taken to Ventura County Medical Center in unknown condition.
It was not immediately clear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
