Luis Torres ID’d as Man Killed in Riverside Pedestrian Accident at Indiana Avenue and Jefferson Street
Riverside, California (February 3, 2021) – The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening at an intersection in Riverside as Luis Torres, 82, of Riverside.
The deadly accident happened at about 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Jefferson Street.
According to authorities, Torres was walking across the street when he was struck by a pickup truck that was traveling eastbound on Indiana Avenue.
Elderly Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Pickup in Riverside
Torres was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup driver, a 22-year-old Moreno Valley man, stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. Authorities said neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the collision.
Indiana Avenue between Jefferson and Detroit Drive Tuesday was closed during the investigation.
The accident remains under investigation by the Riverside Police Department.
