Dorris, California (January 29, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Thursday evening at an intersection in Dorris, Siskiyou County.

The major injury accident happened at around 5:53 p.m. Thursday, January 28, at the intersection of Mathews and Big Stump roads, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the intersection for undetermined reasons.

First responders arrived at the location and found the pedestrian with major injuries. The patient was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

Further details about the crash were not immediately available.

The accident remains under investigation.
