41-Year-Old South Gate Man Killed in Pomona Crash on 10 Freeway near Kellogg Drive Off-Ramp

Pomona, California (January 24, 2021) – A 41-year-old South Gate man was killed in a Sunday morning multi-vehicle accident that left three other people injured in Pomona, authorities said.
The deadly three-vehicle accident transpired at about 12:00 a.m. on 10 Freeway near Kellogg Drive off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu rear-ended a 2018 Honda Accord that was disabled in the number four lane on the westbound 10 Freeway in unclear circumstances.
The crash impact pushed the Honda forward, hitting the 41-year-old South Gate man and two other people who had gotten out of the car, the officials said.
Moments later, a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze that was headed westbound on 10 Freeway reportedly crashed into the Chevrolet Malibu.
Following the collision, the Honda flipped and came to a rest on its side near the Kellogg Drive off-ramp of the westbound freeway. The Chevrolet Malibu became disabled in the number two lane of the westbound freeway.

Sadly, the 41-year-old South Gate man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other two parties sustained major injuries and were taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the Cruze suffered minor injuries and was also transported to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
According to the CHP, the driver of the Malibu fled the scene and is being sought by the police.
Traffic on the roadway was temporarily stopped due to the accident. As of 4:06 a.m., all lanes were cleared.
