Mission Valley, California (January 20, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Mission Valley, according to a local news source.

The major injury accident occurred at around 2:15 p.m. on Camino De La Reina near Qualcomm Way, authorities reported.

According to the authorities, a 26-year-old woman was driving a 2012 Volvo S60 westbound on Camino De La Reina when she traveled through the Mission Valley intersection on a green light and struck the pedestrian who suddenly ran onto the road.

Pedestrian Hit by Car, Injured in Mission Valley

The pedestrian, only identified as a 62-year-old man, sustained major head trauma and a broken left femur as a result of the crash. He was transported by responding paramedics to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Volvo was not injured.
