Wilmington, California (January 16, 2021) – A bicyclist was injured after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in the Wilmington neighborhood in Los Angeles, according to a local news source.

The major injury collision happened at about 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, on the Pacific Coast Highway near the Island Avenue crossroad.

Authorities said a man was riding a black and red bicycle on the highway when, for unknown reasons, he was struck by a vehicle.

The man sustained unspecified injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he remained in the intensive care unit.

Authorities said the man had no identification on him. He was described as having black hair and brown eyes.

The man is believed to be about 30 years old. He is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 156 pounds. He has a thin mustache and no visible tattoos.

Details about the driver of the involved vehicle were not immediately available.
