Irvine, California (January 15, 2021) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died Friday morning in a traffic accident in Irvine as Garrett Ryder Wade, 18, of Orange. He was a student at Concordia University.

The deadly accident occurred at about 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Kazan Street.

Authorities said Wade was riding a motorcycle on the roadway when, for undetermined reasons, he collided with a car.

Wade was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the involved car stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
