Nathanael Armus Among 2 Injured in Red Bluff Car Crash on Highway 36 near Paynes Creek
Red Bluff, California (January 6, 2021) – Nathanael Armus, 29, of Red Bluff, has been identified as one of the two parties who were injured in a two-vehicle accident last week in Red Bluff, the CHP said.
The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, December 31, on Highway 36 near Paynes Creek.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Henry Cardona, 19, of Red Bluff, was headed westbound on Highway 36. A 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by Armus, was also traveling westbound behind the Hyundai.
Armus reportedly drove the Mitsubishi into the eastbound lane in an attempt to overtake the Santa Fe, when for unknown reasons, Cardona allegedly drove his vehicle into the eastbound lane in the pathway of the passing Mitsubishi.
Unfortunately, Armus crashed into the Hyundai as it re-entered the roadway.
As a result of the crash impact, Armus’s Mitsubishi flipped over several times before landing on its roof. The Hyundai drifted off the roadway and crashed into a large boulder, the officials said.

Armus sustained a laceration to his head. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.
Armus’s passenger was also hospitalized with major injuries. A 5-year-old boy was also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
