Man Dies after Los Angeles Accident at Beaudry Avenue and First Street

Los Angeles, California (January 6, 2021) – A man in his 30s died after a car smashed into a building in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
The deadly single-vehicle accident happened at about 12:30 a.m. at Beaudry Avenue and First Street.
According to the officials, a 2020 Porsche, driven by the man, was headed eastbound on First Street at a high rate of speed when it struck the side of an LAUSD building and an overhanging street lamp, shearing the sports car in half.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the police, the building sustained some cosmetic damage, but the structure appeared to remain sound.
It was not clear if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. Speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
