Sonoma Valley, California (January 5, 2021) – Alondra Bandt Valero, 21, of Sonoma, has been identified as one of the two women who were killed in a two-vehicle accident on Monday morning in Sonoma Valley, according to the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office.

The deadly accident happened at about 8:20 a.m., on January 4, on Highway 12, east of Oakmont Drive.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Nissan Sentra, driven by Valero, was headed westbound on Highway 12. A Chevrolet truck, operated by Michael Williams, 60, of Santa Rosa, was traveling on the eastbound side of the highway.

Unfortunately, Valero lost control on a curve and crossed into the opposite lane, where it collided with the Chevrolet. The front of the Chevrolet crashed into the right side of the Nissan.

Sadly, Valero and her mother, a 44-year-old woman from Sonoma, were declared dead at the crash site.

Williams sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

The crash remains under investigation.
