Sonoma Valley, California (January 5, 2021) – A 21-year-old woman and her 44-year-old mother were killed in a two-vehicle accident on Monday morning in Sonoma Valley, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 8:20 a.m., on January 4, on Highway 12, east of Oakmont Drive.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Nissan Sentra was headed westbound on Highway 12 while a Chevrolet truck was traveling on the eastbound side of the highway.

Unfortunately, the Nissan’s driver lost control on a curve and crossed into the opposite lane where it collided with the Chevrolet. The front of the Chevrolet crashed into the right side of the Nissan.

2 Women Killed in Sonoma Valley Crash

Sadly, the driver of the Nissan, the 21-year-old Sonoma woman, and her mother, the 44-year-old woman from Sonoma, were declared dead at the crash site.

The truck’s driver, a 60-year-old Santa Rosa man, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
