1 Killed and 1 Injured in Car Accident on 405 Freeway near Victory Boulevard
Van Nuys, California (January 1, 2021) – One person was killed and another was seriously injured in a car crash that happened in Van Nuys early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened on Interstate 405 Freeway near the Victory Boulevard exit at about 3:40 a.m.
A vehicle was traveling southbound on the freeway when it crashed in a field near the Woodley Park Archery Range for unknown reasons.
The vehicle reportedly burst into flames after the crash.
One person was trapped inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another person was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with major injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
