Girl Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Accident on Monterey Highway
San Jose, California (December 30, 2020) – A girl died after being struck by a truck Wednesday afternoon in the Rancho neighborhood in San Jose, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened at around 1:45 p.m. in the 3600 block of Monterey Highway, police said.
According to the authorities, a driver was attempting to unload the truck off a trailer when the girl jumped on the trailer in front of the truck.
The truck rolled forward and struck the girl.
Deadly Accident on Monterey Highway in San Jose
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and transported the girl to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her name was withheld pending notification of her relatives.
The driver of the truck stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
