Sacramento County, California (December 25, 2020) – Three people were injured Thursday evening in a traffic accident in an intersection in Sacramento County, according to a local news source.

The crash, which involved two vehicles, happened at about 5:24 p.m. at the intersection of Roseville Road and Walerga Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Mazda was heading northbound on Roseville Road when, for undetermined reasons, it collided with a Nissan Sentra that was traveling southbound on Roseville Road at Walerga Road.

Major Injury Crash at Roseville Road and Walerga Road in Sacramento County

Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated three people who were trapped in their vehicles.

The 20-year-old driver of the Sentra and the 20-year-old passenger sustained major injuries in the crash. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A 79-year-old woman in the Mazda also suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital. The names of the injured parties and their condition were not disclosed.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area.

The accident remains under investigation.
