Betty Zimmerman Killed in Angels Camp Car Accident on Vallecito Road near Highway 4
Angels Camp, California (December 22, 2020) –85-year-old Betty Zimmerman, of Murphys, have been identified as the female victim who died following a traffic accident Friday morning in Angels Camp.
The deadly head-on collision was reported to the California Highway Patrol in the morning hours, December 18, on Vallecito Road, south of Highway 4.
The accident happened when a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Zimmerman crossed over a solid double-yellow line for reasons still under investigation.
The Pontiac then slammed head-on into a 1972 Chevrolet C10 truck operated by an 80-year-old man.

Sadly, Zimmerman died in the accident.
The other driver, a Murphys resident, was hospitalized at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries.
Intoxication was not believed to have played a role in the mishap.
The detectives handing the case are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
