Justin Neva ID’d as Man Killed in Oroville Crash at Nelson and Fogg Avenues
Oroville, California (December 22, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who died in a hit-and-run accident Sunday morning in Oroville as Justin Neva, 57, of Berry Creek.
At about 9:00 a.m. Sunday, December 20, emergency personnel responded to the area of Nelson Avenue and Fogg Avenue for the reported traffic accident.
Authorities said Andrew Arrieta, 30, of Oroville, was driving his vehicle on Nelson Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he allowed the vehicle to drift onto the shoulder and crashed into a parked car and its trailer.
Neva, who was standing next to the parked car, was also struck.
First responders arrived at the scene and found Neva lying on the sidewalk. He was declared dead at the scene.
The involved driver, Andrew Arrieta, 30, of Oroville, fled the scene but was ultimately arrested. He was booked into the Butte County Jail for felony hit-and-run. His bail was set at $160,000.
The crash remains under investigation.
