Canoga Park, California (December 18, 2020) – The woman who died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday morning at an intersection in Canoga Park has been identified as Lorena Ponce, 46, of Winnetka.

The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 5:06 a.m. Wednesday, December 16 in the area of Roscoe Boulevard and Lurline Avenue.

Authorities said Ponce was hit by a vehicle at the Canoga Park intersection for unknown reasons.

Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Ponce dead at the scene.

The driver involved did not stop to rendered aid to Ponce and fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle was described as an older model Chevy Tahoe, light-coloured, tan or silver in colour.

A reward of up to $50,000 is available for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of the driver.
