Man Seriously Injured in San Jacinto Bicycle Accident at Esplanade and San Jacinto Avenues
San Jacinto, California (December 18, 2020) – A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning at an intersection in San Jacinto, according to authorities.
The crash was reported at around 1:20 a.m. Thursday, December 17, at the intersection of Esplanade and San Jacinto Avenues.
As per the report, a man was riding a bicycle at the intersection when, for unknown reasons, he was hit by a vehicle.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the bicyclist trapped underneath the vehicle.
The bicyclist, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was taken to a nearby hospital with major injuries.
The driver involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. Authorities later determined that the driver was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the accident. He was eventually arrested and booked into custody on suspicion of DUI.
