Moreno Valley, California (December 17, 2020) – Several people were hospitalized Wednesday morning after a traffic accident involving three vehicles in Moreno Valley, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The major injury collision happened at around 7:31 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, at the intersection of Eucalyptus Avenue and Kitching Street, authorities reported.

According to the authorities, a green Toyota Tacoma was heading eastbound on Eucalyptus Avenue at a high rate of speed towards Kitching Street when the driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a white Toyota Camry.

Due to the impact, the Toyota Tacoma became airborne and rolled over on the top of a Hyundai Sonata, which was heading westbound on Eucalyptus Avenue towards Kitching Street.

Authorities said the Toyota Tacoma continued to overturn and land on its roof, near the intersection of Coralberry Way and Eucalyptus Avenue.

First responders arrived at the scene and pulled the juvenile passenger from the Toyota Tacoma. The occupants of the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Camry were transported to local area hospitals with unspecified injuries.

The names of the injured parties and their conditions were not immediately disclosed.

Eucalyptus Avenue, between Kentland Lane and Coralberry Street, was closed as the investigation took place. Investigators said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
