2 People Injured in Grass Valley Crash on Highway 49 near Wellswood Way

Grass Valley, California (December 2, 2020) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon in Grass Valley, authorities said.
The accident happened at about 2:53 p.m. on Highway 49, near Wellswood Way, south of McKnight Way.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a small sedan was pulling out of a cross-street to turn left onto the highway, attempting to go northbound when it struck a vehicle that was traveling southbound.
As a result of the collision, the sedan flipped over several times. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, causing a traffic hazard in the roadway that affected both lanes, the officials said.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.
An investigation into the collision is underway.
