Heidi Cai ID’d as Woman Killed in Baker Accident on Interstate 15
Baker, California (December 1, 2020) – The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who died following a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning near Baker as Heidi Cai, 56, of Las Vegas.
The deadly rear-end crash happened at around 5:43 a.m. on Interstate 15, just north of mile marker 153.
Authorities said one vehicle crashed into the rear of another car in the southbound lane of the interstate. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to lose control and overturn.
Fatal Rear-End Collision on Interstate 15 in Baker
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found Cai lying in the center median. She was pronounced dead at the scene at around 6:12 a.m.
The drivers of the two vehicles sustained unspecified injuries and were transported to Las Vegas area hospitals. Their current condition remained undisclosed.
An investigation by the California Highway Patrol is underway.
