Sacramento, California (November 27, 2020) – A 38-year-old man was seriously injured early Thursday morning in an alleged DUI crash in the Foothill Farms area of Sacramento, according to a local news source.

The major injury collision happened at around 3:40 a.m. Thursday, November 26, at the intersection of Elkhorn Boulevard and Diablo Drive.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 24-year-old woman was driving her vehicle on Diablo Drive when she allegedly ran a red light at Elkhorn Boulevard and slammed into a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 38-year-old Sacramento man.

Major Injury Crash at Elkhorn Boulevard and Diablo Drive

The driver of the Dodge sustained major injuries and was transported to Mercy San Juan. The woman was also taken to Mercy San Juan with major life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash and both drivers were arrested on suspicion of DUI.
