Steven Shivers ID’d as Man Killed in Vista Crash on State Route78 near Sycamore Avenue
Vista, California (November 11, 2020) – The man who died in a traffic accident late last month in Vista has been identified as Steven David Shivers, 59, of Oceanside, according to a press release by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The deadly crash happened at around 12:36 p.m. Friday, October 30 on westbound State Route78, just west of Sycamore Avenue.
According to the authorities, Shivers was driving his green Ford F-150 pickup truck westbound on State Route78 when, for undetermined reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Medical personnel responded to the scene and performed CPR on Shivers. He was then taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injures at around 1:24 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
