Troy Costa Sr. ID’d as Man Seriously Injured in South Lake Tahoe Motorcycle Accident on Highway 89

South Lake Tahoe, California (October 19, 2020) – Troy Costa Sr., 58, of Wellington, has been identified as the man who was severely injured in a motorcycle accident on Saturday evening in South Lake Tahoe, authorities said.
At about 5:00 p.m., on October 17, the California Highway Patrol responded to the major injury accident on Highway 89, about a mile north of the Highway 4 junction.
The CHP said Costa Sr. was riding his Harley motorcycle southbound on the highway when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.
Costa Sr. was ejected onto the roadway while his motorcycle went off the road and over a cliff near the east fork of the Carson River.

Costa Sr. was seriously injured and was airlifted to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
