Derris Kennedy Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Highway 41 in Fresno
Derris Kennedy ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Fresno Collision on Highway 41 near Highway 180

Fresno, California (October 18, 2020) – Derris Kennedy, 26, of Alabama, has been identified as the man who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Saturday morning in Fresno, authorities said.
The deadly pedestrian accident transpired at about 1:30 a.m., on October 17, on Highway 41, where it transitions to Highway 180.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Kennedy was walking in the highway’s traffic lanes when a southbound 2001 Suzuki Vitara struck him.

Kennedy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The involved driver, a 60-year-old Sanger man, sustained major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
