2 Suffers Major Injuries in Shingletown Car Accident on Highway 44 near Rest Area
Shingletown, California (October 12, 2020) – Two people were seriously injured Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 44 in Shingletown, according to a local news source.
The accident was reported to the California Highway Patrol officers at around 8:51 p.m. Saturday, October 10, in the 32701 block of Highway 44.
According to the CHP, a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 collided with a 4-door sedan on Highway 44 for unknown reasons.
After the crash, the sedan overturned onto the dirt area while the pickup truck acquired major front-end damage.
One person was ejected from the wreckage. Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated another person who was trapped in their vehicle.
The ejected victim sustained critical injuries, while the freed person suffered moderate injuries. Both patients were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
