9 Hurt after Vehicle Crashes Into Grand Century Plaza in San Jose

San Jose, California (October 11, 2020) – Nine people were injured when a vehicle crashed into an outdoor dining area at Grand Century Plaza late Sunday afternoon, according to a local news source.
The crash happened at the Dynasty Chinese seafood restaurant, which is located at 1001 block of Story Road.
Authorities said a 69-year-old man was attempting to park his SUV at the Grand Century Plaza when he accidentally accelerated and slammed into outdoor tables at the restaurant.
The driver of the SUV, three women and five men were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Two patients sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Police said the SUV’s driver may have been in medical distress before the collision.
