Man Killed in Glendale Pedestrian Accident at Brand Boulevard and Maple Street

Glendale, California (September 18, 2020) – A man was hit and killed by two vehicles on Thursday night in Glendale, police said.
The deadly accident transpired at about 8:00 p.m., on September 17, at Brand Boulevard and Maple Street.
According to the authorities, a car, driven by Akop Daniyelyan, 32, of Los Angeles, was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed while attempting to pass another vehicle.
Unfortunately, Daniyelyan reportedly struck another vehicle, driven by Alejandro Garcia, 27, of Los Angeles, that was also traveling at a high rate of speed.
Following the collision, the two vehicles then crashed into a parked car, a tree, and finally, a male pedestrian in his 60s, the officials said.

The male pedestrian was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Daniyelyan was allegedly intoxicated and was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence causing bodily injury, and reckless driving causing bodily injury.
Garcia was booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving, causing bodily injury. He was later released on a $50,000 bond.
The crash remains under investigation.
