Boulevard Man Killed in Campo Car Accident on Buckman Springs Road near Oak Drive
Campo, California (September 18, 2020) – An elderly driver was killed Thursday night in a single-vehicle crash in the Campo area of San Diego County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly accident happened at around 8:40 p.m. Thursday, September 17, on Buckman Springs Road near Oak Drive.
The CHP said an 84-year-old Boulevard man was driving his 2000 Toyota Camry southbound on a curving stretch of Buckman Springs Road when, for unknown reasons, he drifted off the east side of the roadway and struck a tree.
The Camry then rolled over, ejecting the driver through the front passenger-side window.
Deadly Car Accident on Buckman Springs Road in Campo
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
