San Rafael, California (September 18, 2020) – Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision of a car and a train Thursday afternoon in San Rafael.
The accident was reported shortly before 4:00 p.m. at San Pedro and Los Ranchitos roads.
A car operated by the female party was struck by a SMART train, on September 17, in unclear circumstances.
Due to the impact, the car was thrown nearly 100 feet.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the woman to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
