Earlimart, California (September 15, 2020) –Roberto Barron Vejar, 48, has been identified as one of the two persons who were injured in a two-vehicle accident that killed three people including children on Monday night in Earlimart, authorities said.

At about 3:20 p.m., on September 14, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident in the area of Avenue 48 at Road 160.

The CHP said a 2014 Nissan Sentra, driven by a 26-year-old woman, was traveling northbound on Road 160 approaching Avenue 48 when it collided with a 2003 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Vejar, that was driving westbound on Avenue 48.

The Nissan reportedly failed to stop for the posted stop sign and directly entered the intersection in front of the Toyota.

Following the collision, the Nissan spun out of control onto the northwest corner of the intersection. At the same time, Vejar’s Toyota came to rest on the north shoulder of Avenue 48, just west of Road 160, the officials said.
