Jose Delgado ID’d as Man Killed in National City Crash on 16th Street
National City, California (September 12, 2020) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who died in a traffic accident last month in National City as Jose Delgado, 18, of National City.
The deadly car accident happened at around 11:04 p.m. Monday, August 24, in the 2800 block of E. 16th Street.
Authorities said Delgado was driving his vehicle westbound on E. 16th Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control and went over an elevated area in the roadway.
The vehicle then hit a pole.
Deadly Crash on 16th Street in National City
Delgado was declared dead at the scene while his passenger was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
The National City Police are investigating the crash.
