Skateboard Rider Killed in Visalia Hit-and-Run Crash on N Dinuba Boulevard near W Riggin Avenue; Carlos Rivera Arrested
Visalia, California (August 28, 2020) – A skateboard rider died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night in Visalia, police said.
The fatal crash happened at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday, August 27, on N Dinuba Boulevard near W Riggin Avenue.
According to the authorities, a vehicle was heading northbound on Dinuba Boulevard when, for unknown reasons, it hit the skateboard rider.

The rider died in the crash. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene.
The suspected driver, identified as Carlos Rivera, 51, of Visalia, was later found at his residence. He was eventually arrested and booked into the Tulare County Jail for felony hit-and-run.
No further details regarding the crash were immediately provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
