James Yates ID’d as Man Injured in Orland Car Accident on County Road 9 and First Avenue

Orland, Califorania (August 26, 2020) – James Yates, 69, of Red Bluff, has been identified as the man who was injured Monday morning in a rear-end collision in Orland.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 8:20 a.m. Monday, August 24 on County Road 9 and First Avenue.
The CHP said a vehicle, driven by Yates, was heading eastbound on County Road 9 and had stopped to make a northbound turn onto First Avenue when it was rear-ended by a 2004 Ford Ranger driven by Loretta Howard, 27, of Orland.
Yates sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment. Howard complained of pain after the crash.
Yates and Howard were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
