Merced County, California (August 25, 2020) – Heather Hill, 25, of Oakdale, has been identified as one of the four persons who were injured in a traffic accident that killed Drayden Drake, 7, from Oakdale, on Sunday night in Merced County, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at Turlock and Oakdale roads, at about 9:20 p.m., on August 23.

A 2011 Cadillac SUV, driven by Tasjuan Drake, 28, of Oakdale, was traveling northbound on Oakdale Road approaching Turlock Road when it collided with a 2013 Ford Fusion, driven by Catherine Brehm, 58, of Coulterville, the CHP said.

According to the officials, the Fusion was driving eastbound on Turlock Road and had stopped at the intersection. The Fusion then pulled out into the pathway of Drake’s Cadillac.

At the same time, a 2015 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Daniel Donham, 35, of Ripon, was waiting for the Cadillac to pass before making an eastbound turn onto Turlock Road.

Both Hill and Tasjuan Drake were transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries. Hill was a passenger in the Cadillac.

A 4-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, both passengers in the SUV, were taken to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera with moderate injuries.

Donham and Brehm were not hurt in the mishap.

Intoxication was not suspected of having played a role in the accident.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
