Trinity County, California (August 14, 2020) – Two people were killed in a fiery two-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon in Trinity County, authorities said.

At about 2:38 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident on Highway 299, east of the Shasta-Trinity county line.

According to the CHP, a Toyota sedan was headed eastbound when, for unknown reasons, it crossed into an oncoming lane and collided with a Ford pickup truck.

As a result of the collision, both vehicles caught fire.

Two people were killed in the accident. The two victims were the drivers of the vehicles.
