2 Hospitalized After Chula Vista Multi-Vehicle Collision on State Route 12 near Otay Lakes Road
Chula Vista, California (August 13, 2020) – A man and a woman were hospitalized after being involved in a wrong-way multi-vehicle collision in Chula Vista Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The multiple vehicles collided at about 10:00 a.m. on State Route 125 near Otay Lakes Road.
The accident happened when a white Scion was traveling northbound in the southbound No. 1 lane and collided with a black 2018 BMW X2 in the morning hours.
A tan Toyota pickup truck and an older-model baby blue sedan reportedly crashed with debris in both traffic lanes.
Chula Vista Wrong-way Accident on State Route 12
The crash left two people with possibly non-life-threatening injuries. The victims, a man, and a woman were rushed to Scripps Mercy in San Diego for medication.
Limited details regarding the mishap were released at the time of the report.
The CHP is still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
