Fresno County, CA: Major Injury Head-On Crash on Highway 41 and East Elkhorn Avenue
Several Hospitalized after Fresno County Car Accident on Highway 41 and East Elkhorn Avenue

Fresno County, California (July 19, 2020) – Several people were hospitalized Saturday evening after a head-on crash at an intersection in Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The two-car collision took place at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday, July 18, on Highway 41 and East Elkhorn Avenue.
According to the CHP, a man was driving a Kia Optima when he made an unsafe pass on southbound Highway 41 and collided head-on with a Honda Civic that was being driven northbound on Highway 41 by a woman.
A Toyota Corolla was also involved in the crash.
2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 41 and East Elkhorn Avenue in Fresno County Sends Several to Hospital
The driver of the Kia sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital while three passengers in the Kia were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The Honda driver was also taken to the hospital with major injuries. The driver of the Toyota and the other passengers were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
Both lanes of Highway 41 were blocked for around 20 minutes following the crash. Motorists were being diverted from Elkhorn Avenue.
No other details about the accident were given.
The crash remains under investigation.
