1 Dies, 1 Hospitalized after Los Angeles Car Accident on 106th Street and Vermont Avenue
Los Angeles, California (July 12, 2020) – One person was killed and one other injured in a three-vehicle accident in the Westmont community of unincorporated Los Angeles County, authorities said.
At about 9:35 p.m., on July 11, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident on 106th Street and Vermont Avenue.
A white 2007 BMW 328i was traveling eastbound on 106th Street when it failed to stop for a stop sign at Vermont Avenue and went directly into the pathway of another white 2007 BMW that was traveling southbound on the roadway, the CHP said.
According to the officials, the southbound BMW rear-ended the eastbound BMW and 47-year-old man, from Compton, who was driving southbound in the No: 1 lane on Vermont Avenue in a 2007 black Saab 20T turned his car to the left to avoid the crash.
Unfortunately, the Compton man crashed into the concrete center median on southbound Vermont Avenue before drifting off the roadway and hitting a tree.
Fatal 3-Car Accident on 106th Street and Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles
The Compton man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 39-year-old man from Los Angeles, also involved in the mishap, sustained minor injuries. He was transported to Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
