Shery Doucette ID’d as One of Three Killed in Mentone Plane Crash near Highway 38 /Mill Creek Road

Mentone, California (June 6, 2020) – One of the three people who died in a plane crash Friday afternoon near the Crafton Hills in the Mentone area of San Bernardino County has been identified as Shery Doucette, of Big Bear.
The fatal crash happened at about 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, in the area of 3055 Mill Creek Road, also known as Highway 38.
Authorities said a single-engine Cessna 172 plane crashed under unknown circumstances on Mill Creek Road.
Three people onboard the plane were killed in the crash. Two of those killed were Shery Doucette and her 11-year-old daughter.
According to the reports, Shery was an airport district employee. She was the administrative analyst for the district and served as board secretary.
Authorities said the plane is registered to Christopher P. Hark, of Big Bear City.
No other details about the accident were immediately given.
The FAA and the National Transportation and Safety Board are investigating the cause of the accident.
