Nicholas Gonzalez ID’d as Man Killed in Moreno Valley Crash on Gilman Springs Road near Bridge Street

Moreno Valley, California (May 19, 2020) – The man who died in a fiery multi-vehicle crash Sunday night in Moreno Valley has been identified as Nicholas Anthony Gonzalez, 28, of San Jacinto, according to authorities.
The fatal crash happened at about 10:47 p.m. Sunday, May 17, in the 34811 block of Gilman Springs Road, just west of Bridge Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Gonzalez, was traveling on Gilman Springs Road when it made an unsafe turn onto the wrong side of the road.
The Chevrolet then drifted to the left of the solid yellow lines and collided head-on with a semi-truck and trailer. The semi caught on fire after the impact.
As a result of the collision, the Chevrolet continued out of control and collided with another vehicle. About three other cars were also involved in the crash.
Authorities said Gonzalez died at the scene of the accident.
The CHP closed both lanes of Gilman Springs Road following the wreck.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
