Sharlene Ayala and Patricia Romero Victims of Friday Afternoon Fatal Riverside Crash
2 Women Killed in Riverside Car Crash on Central Avenue Identified

Riverside, California (May 19, 2020) – Authorities have identified the two Riverside women who died in a car crash Friday afternoon in west Riverside.
Sharlene Ayala, 19, and Patricia Romero, 63, were involved in the fatal crash that occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on Central Avenue near Montclair Drive.
According to the Riverside Police Department, a newer model Jeep was headed west on Central with a 28-year-old driver behind the wheel. The SUV drifted into opposing traffic and directly into the path of a Toyota Corolla driven by Ayala.
The two vehicles collided.
Fatal Riverside Crash on Central Avenue
Ayala succumbed to her injuries at the accident scene. Her passenger, Romero, was rushed to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead about an hour later.
The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries. His name was not released.
According to police, the driver was not arrested, but they are investigating the crash.
