Waynette Hunter Dies after East Oakland Car Accident near Interstate Highway 580

Oakland, California (April 29, 2020) – Waynette Hunter, 29, of Oakland, has been identified as the female passenger who was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Sunday morning in Oakland, police said
At about 3:36 a.m., on April 26, the police responded to the deadly crash at the intersection of 98th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard, a few blocks west of Interstate Highway 580.
As per the authorities’ reports, a white Honda Civic, operated by a 25-year-old Oakland woman, was traveling eastbound on MacArthur when it struck a silver Nissan Quest that was traveling westbound on MacArthur Boulevard.
The Nissan, driven by a 20-year-old Oakland woman, was reportedly making a southbound turn onto 98th Avenue at the time.
Hunter, a passenger in the Honda Civic, was declared dead at the scene.
The Honda driver took herself to Highland Hospital in Oakland and is listed in critical but stable condition.
The Nissan driver was transported via ground ambulance to Highland Hospital in critical condition.
It was not clear if intoxication played a role in the crash.
