High Speed Chase on Highway 99 in Turlock Ends in Crash, Erik McDaniel and Alberto Robledo Injured

Turlock, California (April 10, 2020) – A man was arrested after a high-speed chase on Highway 99 in Turlock ended in a major injury collision.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 99 near West Main Street at about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7.

40-year-old Alberto Robledo, of Sacramento, was driving a Chrysler PT Cruiser on southbound Highway 99 while drunk when h was pulled over by the CHP officers.

Robledo sped off before an officer was able to approach. The officers gave a chase before the Chrysler crashed into a 2018 Ram 5500 towing a Bigtex semi-trailer.

Robledo was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by emergency responders before being transported to the hospital for treatment of major injuries.

The driver of the big rig, 30-year-old Erik McDaniel, of Bakersfield, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Mr. Robledo was later arrested on suspicion of DUI, felony evading and driving without a valid driver’s license.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
