Matthew Carmona Fatally Hit by Vehicle on 15 Freeway in Fontana
Matthew Carmona ID’d as Man Killed in Fontana Pedestrian Accident on 15 Freeway
Fontana, California (April 2, 2020) – The man who was hit and killed by a vehicle on Sunday night in Fontana has been identified as Matthew Enrique Carmona, 20, of Hesperia, according to a local news source.
The crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. March 29, on 15 Freeway, just south of Glen Helen Parkway.
According to investigators, Carmona was driving his black 2008 Honda Civic when it ran out of gas on the freeway. He and his passenger went across the freeway to call for help. As they were going back to their vehicle, a silver Honda Civic hit Carmona.
Matthew Carmona Killed in Fontana Pedestrian Collision on 15 Freeway
Carmona was pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger was unhurt.
The driver who hit Carmona stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
